Nurturing Gong

After reading more about gong on a blog site I decided to purchase the book Yang Yang, Taijiquan: The Art of Nurturing, The Science of Power, 2005.  So far, I am very impressed with the writing.  It reads extremely close to what Ha Sifu has been teaching us these last few years.  For example,

“How to nurture gong? Acquiring gong is just like saving money.  We can either choose to save our money, continually and consciously adding to our principle and accumulating interest, or we can spend it whenever we get it.  And so it is with gong.  In the way that we practice, we choose to either nurture ourselves or spend our energy.  If we spend it, we will not accumulate it.  It’s that simple.  Our attitutde should be to nurture, nurture, nurture, slowly and patiently, step-by-step, accumulating gong.  Only by nurturing can we use softness to accumulate hardness.”

As you can see.  As one progresses in one art, all the other internal arts seem to converge and cross-over.  I recommend this book for reading.
